Wellbeing training for supported housing staff
Staff in supported housing are often the steadiest presence in someone's life at a time when very little else feels steady. They are there on the good days and in the crises, sometimes on a night shift with no one else on site.
That asks a lot of the nervous system. If you manage a supported accommodation or housing support service, I run wellbeing training that gives your team a practical way to come back to calm, on shift and after it.
Why it matters for the people you support
Young people and adults in supported housing often arrive carrying a great deal of stress of their own. A regulated worker is better placed to stay calm in a tense moment and help the person in front of them settle too. When a worker is running on empty, that becomes much harder.
Over time, carrying other people's distress without a way to put it down can lead to burnout. I've written about burnout in social work, and much of it applies to housing support too.
What the workshop covers
Each workshop starts with the science, kept simple: what stress does to the brain and body, and why calming down is so hard once you are already overwhelmed. Then we move to EFT tapping. Staff practise the tapping points with me and leave with a short routine they can use between visits or at the end of a shift.
No one has to share anything personal. You can tap along while privately thinking of a difficult moment from work. It helps if someone is happy to offer a general example for the group, but this is always optional.

About me
I'm Susana Carr, founder of MyTappyPlace. I'm a registered social worker with over fifteen years in social care and a Level 2 EFT practitioner. Before I qualified, I worked with adults with physical disabilities. Since qualifying, I have worked with children with disabilities and in child protection.
I have delivered online workshops for the National Association of Supported Accommodation Providers and for Cafcass.
Tapping became part of my own life in 2024, after a frightening time in my family, and I still use it.
