When our nervous system is in threat mode, it becomes harder to hold different explanations in mind and stay curious with the families we support. Regulation shapes our decisions and our relationships as much as our wellbeing.
"When my nervous system was regulated, my practice changed. I listened more carefully and reacted less."
Sounder decisions under pressure, with room to weigh more than one explanation
Stronger relationships with families when conversations get difficult
Steadier preparation for court, child protection conferences and other high-stakes moments
Teams that stay well over time, which can help with burnout and sickness absence
I run practical tapping workshops for social work, fostering and frontline teams, online or in person. Everyone tries tapping on something real and leaves with a tool they can use the same day.

EFT tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a body-based way to settle your nervous system. You tap gently on set points on your face and body while naming what you feel. This can calm the stress response and bring you back into your window of tolerance, so you can think clearly again.
It takes a few minutes and needs no equipment. You can use it in the car before a difficult visit, or at night when a case won't leave your head.
I built MyTappyPlace for social workers first, because that's the work I know. Tapping can help anyone whose job means carrying other people's distress.

The MyTappyPlace app has short guided tapping sessions for the moments work throws at you, from the drive to court to the 2am replay of a hard conversation.
What's weighing on you?
Sessions of 2 to 5 minutes, plus longer ones for deeper work
Sessions organised by emotion and by situation
Calm and uncluttered, with no streaks or nagging notifications, so it works for neurodivergent brains
No tapping experience needed
In return, I ask you to complete a short wellbeing questionnaire at the start and end, and share your feedback. This helps me evaluate the app before launch. Open to UK social workers and social care practitioners until 30 November 2026.

I'm now running a service evaluation with UK social care practitioners using the app, and I'll share the findings here.
Tapping supports wellbeing alongside supervision and therapy. It doesn't replace either.
"Susana provided an EFT workshop at our Annual Emotional Resilience and Wellbeing conference [...]. She received excellent feedback from attendees commenting on how good the tool is and how practical the workshop was. Susana was very positive, engaged and flexible to work with. We would recommend Susana and her service!"
"This was a good practical workshop that provided me with another grounding technique to help me through my emotions, especially working with families that are challenging or have shared their traumatic experiences."
"Great practical tool. Will be using this in my future practice."
"Loved learning about this practical solution for dealing with stress."

In 2024 I found tapping during the hardest period of my life. It helped me steady myself while I kept working, and it changed how I practised. I built MyTappyPlace so others doing this work can have the same tool.

Workshops start from £450. After a short call I'll send a clear quote based on the format and group size you need.
Both. I deliver online across the UK and in person by arrangement.
Tasters can run for up to 100 people online or 40 in person. Half-day and full-day workshops take up to 30, online or in person, so everyone can practise with support. Larger groups are possible with a co-facilitator, by arrangement. Workshops for foster carers take up to 20.
Tapping gives staff something to use in the moment, between visits or before a hard conversation. It sits alongside reflective supervision and your EAP.
Workshops are trauma-informed. I'll invite you to tap on something that feels manageable, and nobody is asked to share what they're tapping on. You can turn your camera off or take a break whenever you need. If you step away online, just send me a private message so I know you're okay and I'll check in with you. I agree a named wellbeing contact with each organisation beforehand, and everyone gets details of further support at the end.
Yes. As part of the aftercare, I create five tapping sessions tailored to the issues affecting your team, such as a difficult case, a restructure or the pressure of court work. Your team can use these sessions in the app after the workshop, alongside the full session library, for a set period. Team licences are available if you'd like access to continue after that.
Yes. The standards map shows how the workshop links to Social Work England standards, the PCF and the KSS. I'm happy to provide a written quote and complete supplier forms.

Mindfulness and breathing work well for many people, but they can be hard to reach when you're already overwhelmed. Tapping works through the body first. You acknowledge what you're feeling while sending calming signals to your nervous system, which many people find easier in a stressful moment.
I built MyTappyPlace for social workers first, because that's the work I know. It's for anyone in a caring or high-pressure job, including teachers, nurses, paramedics and foster carers.
Yes. I'm neurodivergent myself, so the app is calm and uncluttered, with no streaks or nagging notifications. Some sessions are designed for neurodivergent users, and you can use it in your own way and your own time.
Most sessions take 2 to 5 minutes. There are also longer sessions for when you have more time.
Yes. You can tap at your desk, in the car before a visit or somewhere quiet between meetings. Some sessions are designed for exactly those moments.
No. Tapping supports your wellbeing alongside supervision, therapy and reflective practice. If you're struggling, please speak to your GP or a mental health professional. If you need help now, call Samaritans on 116 123 or NHS 111.
Yes. I only collect what's needed to run the app and the evaluation, and I never sell your data. Evaluation questionnaire answers are used to assess the app and are reported anonymously. You can read the full details in the Privacy Policy.
The 3-minute taster session and the Tap Into Calm guide are free for everyone. UK social workers and social care practitioners can get free 8-week access to the app until 30 November 2026. The paid version launches in 2027, with a founding member rate for people on the waitlist.
